2004/09    PRESENT      Memphis Indie recording Studio

Own a 24 discrete live Track + DAW digital Audio and Audio for Video studio, Finalcut and Logic Pro, Protools, (see list), Boom, Live audio for film, Post Audio, Reconstruction of files/audio, ADR and Foley for film.

Live Video Production System, FOH and MON  Engineer.

Operate “Tricaster” live 2 or 3 camera video production system with two robotically controlled cameras, and all other editing inputs, to produce in house video and audio for T.I. Memphis. Set up A/V systems for displays/movies/productions/services in the various rooms, consulted and designed the Temple Archives section’s A/V conversion/archival/redistribution computer production system, taught use, and spec equipment purchases for all A/V systems. Designed and installed the new webcasting/television production system, wireless distribution, wireless roving TV production/distribution system. The system is designed for intergration with an open ended upgrade path.

2000 - 2004        Cajun’s Wharf     Engineer /Lighting System designer / National Talent Buyer

    Midas H3, A&H GL3k/4k, Yam 3k/4k, MC3212/ Crown/EAW LA325/Turbosound Flashlight/Protea/Driverack, Tricaster Designed, Improved, sound and light system, installed new EAW/Crown/DBX/Yamaha/Lexicon FOH system, and (via DMX) Robotically controlled light system for Cajun’s Wharf in LR, AR.  Booked national talent for three years. Designed Blues Monday and Funk Tuesday "Jam Nite" programs to increase attendance successfully for three years.  Live recordings upon request.

Location sound/boom For Fox National Network News including Fox National News (Whitewater Trial remote), Artisan Multimedia AR (Simulcast to China for Clinton Admin), Post Audio for film, ADR and Foley for film for TVII Memphis TN (reconstruct, repair, foley, efx, adr, voiceover, mix for feature length film "Dummy, A Love Story"

    Yam 3k/crown/42 box EAW 850. Mixed FOH large scale outdoor, amphitheaters, arenas, and sheds for acts and sound company, freelance engineer, & teaching a class on audio engineering. Mixed live radio simulcast, sound for video telecast.

1989 93             MONTANA STUDIOS NYC                Engineer

    Many different configs /Yamaha/American/Soundcraft/A&H/Crest/Crown/QSC/BSS/ Engineered many GRP Records acts, Imago Records acts, & Electra, BMG, CAPITOL, Warner, ATCO, & Atlantic Records acts. Mixed live music recording for artist Kohei Otomo’s Sony Documentary. Etc. I also freelanced as record label showcase engineer, and served as “live” recording engineer.

    Trident 80 Series/ MCI-2"24 Track Studio facility. Engineered “live” and "overdub" sessions for pop, grunge, rap, ska, reggae,  and “metal” bands & scheduled equipment maintenance by freelance personnel, billing, setting prices for services.

    Soundcraft 500/Crown DC-300/Chaos (API) Audio CX & boxes, Premiere New York Showcase Room and Cabaret Theater for national and international acts, I mixed record  label showcases for some of the biggest acts on earth in soul, jazz, salsa, blues, rock, funk, Keltic, Scottish, African, Afro-Cuban, and many others, Etc. also mixed Live simulcast to Japan for opening of Bottom Line in Japan.  Refurbished the sound system.  

1985                   BIG APPLE STUDIOS, NYC        Intern

    24/48 track Neve 8068/Studer A820 studio previously owned by John Lennon then owned by Larry Harlow (FAMA RECORDS), Bernard Fox, & George Kazan. Set up rooms, rough mixes, and  learned recording, mic techniques, acoustical physics, billing, pricing, and client relations. on 24 track Masters of Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Richie Havens & Many others. Also did some session work as a musician.

1982        STRYDER SOUND, LITTLE ROCK, AR        Engineer

    Live recording and engineering for local acts, constructed custom speakers.

1981    STOCKTON AUDIO SYSTEMS, LITTLE ROCK, AR    Assistant to Designer

    Assisted in production, installation, & maintenance of custom built high fidelity/high efficiency enclosures.

 

 While working at Montana Studios I also re-interned at Soundtracs Studios to learn SSL Desk operation, used Kampo’s SSL room and Smash’s Trident room to record and mix many multitrack sessions, Montana’s Big room for Live to 2 track sessions, a short Jack Bruce (Cream) tour (just before Cream reunion), and some live recordings for some of the acts in addition to many (major label) showcases.

 While working at the Bottom Line I also recorded the Carl Perkins show with Eric Clapton and many many others on request.
